the ann taylor summer 2012 collection, part 1

as i revealed earlier in the week, i had the opportunity to check out ann taylor’s newest collection for summer 2012. (i hope you don’t mind, but it was so full of awesomeness that i had to split it into two image-heavy posts.) last season featured tons of punchy shades and this collection merely continued into a colorful line for the warmer months.

and can we take a moment to bask in the glory that was the accessories? i mean, the bracelets, necklaces, belts, and purses were so much better than what i could have ever imagined. the ann taylor accessories department is underrated. there was intricate wiring, chunky rhinestones, and…basically, they were all incredibly eye-catching.

this morning, i stopped by the ann taylor showroom to preview the retailer’s summer 2012 collection. the accessories have been on-point the past few seasons, and this part of the line was no exception. (see above if you doubt me.) i was so impressed that i had to break up this visit into two big parts. look for them soon.

though, as fashionista wrote, the marni for h&m collection (which lands in stores on march 8th) “hasn’t reached the same level it did for versace for h&m,” i am excited to see it in-person…so long as that doesn’t mean i have to sign up for a wristband and wait in line for four hours to go into the store for 30 minutes and choose only two pieces. this month’s vogue russia revealed a bit more of the line to whet your appetite.

behold! the prabal gurung “cast member” uniforms for sephora have been revealed! the red-and-black color-blocked frocks will be worn by both male and female employees of the cosmetics retailer. what do you think about them? would you be happy about the designer duds? i feel like he could’ve done a bit more… (i’m kind of bored, to be honest.)

Hey Girl! So I am on the hunt for a good leather bag. One that I can spend a bit of money on that will last me a long time. I can spend around $300 and preferably want black. I don't like a lot of buckles/embellishment and love buttery soft/textured leather. I am in love with A.Wang but who am I kidding? I can only troll eBay for so long before settling for something else. Hope you can help!

i wasn’t sure of what style of leather bag you were looking for, so i gathered four very different ones together for you to check out. all are black, well under $300, lacking in embellishments, and designed by reputable brands. hope you like them!

I know it's not "answer your questions Tuesday", but I am desperate! I have been agonizing over finding the perfect black leather (or leather-like) chelsea boots. I have found several pairs I love, but they are a bit out of my price range at full retail. I keep almost buying them, but I can't quite bring my self to hit the "purchase" button. I am frugal to a fault! Can you find any that are around $100 or less??

hope you don’t mind that i waited until it was “answer your questions tuesday.” i totally feel you—i constantly put items in my e-shopping cart only to click away because i’m looking for the bigger, better deal. after a bit of searching, i found more than a few pairs of black chelsea boots priced under $100, but picked my favorites. here they are:

  1. asos, $90
  2. ecote, $79
  3. asos, $81

I really love your new haircut! It looks swell on you :) Especially your curls! Can you tell us your hair care routine and how you style it daily? I'm sure the whole tumblr-verse is dying to know :D
