i haven’t covered ugg australia in a while, but i do love to prove you all wrong in assuming that the brand exclusively churns out slipper-like footwear. because it doesn’t! it also makes heels and wedges, as you can clearly see! the styles shown are part of the upcoming spring 2013 collection, which should start appearing in stores now.
it is interesting to note that this season’s line was inspired by the exotic wonders of marrakesh. this is hinted at in the rich neutrals, woven details, and bead accents.
the holidays are upon us! i don’t know about you, but i put gift-getting off until the last minute; thankfully, i get the opportunity to attend a few previews before things really get hectic, so the recent ugg holiday 2012 event really got my engine running when it came to cold weather under-the-menorah accoutrements. the overall theme of the preview, which took place at the aspen social club, focused solely on what should be given and received to friends and family; mittens, earmuffs, and shearling-lined slippers were an obvious choice. unexpected options included leather outerwear (my favorite), glam boots, and seasonal handbags in classic colors like black, tan, and ivory.
need extra help finding the perfect gift? ugg has a specially designed “gift boutique.”
just last week, i attended a preview for ugg australia’s upcoming fall 2012 collection. i really enjoy how the boot brand has been mixing things up—especially with the chunky heels, more meaningful (rather than everywhere, all the time) shearling detail, and classic shapes seen here. the photos above speak for themselves, but how cute are those lace-up hunter-esque rainboots? perfect to shield you from an autumnal rainstorm.
check back on wednesday to see the collection, ugg’s luxury line.
though i didn’t party nearly as hard as others on fashion’s night out, i was more than happy to attend the ugg morning after fno brunch yesterday morning for a few reasons: i like to eat food, the ugg showroom has the most beautiful view of the upper east side, everyone who works at ugg is lovely. everyone. quote me.
(jaimen and i are such good friends that we’ve unintentionally become style twins.)
after seeing the latest project by ugg australia, a luxe collection of italian-culled leather footwear and handbags, i could hardly keep it to myself. but rules are rules and i waited until last night at the official launch party to burst with excitement. as i had hinted so many months before, these are not your sorority sister’s boots.
yes, these are all by ugg. i know, you’re shocked. it’s okay. as a consumer perpetually yearning to find “the next best thing,” i was so proud to see the brand step up to the plate and embrace a richer aesthetic. with prices ranging from $800 to $1,600, as i said, you won’t see these shoes on the feet of every college kid across america.
these are splurge-worthy, drool-inducing boots. the leathers were buttery, hardware was simple and ugg’s signature shearling lining was kept to a minimum.
isn’t jaimen the cutest thing you’ve ever seen? the girl puts my neutrals to shame.
the bags were nothing to sneeze at, either. what does a girl have to do to snag that satchel on the left? come on, ugg. show sara some love. (no, but seriously, many thanks to the ugg australia and 360i teams for allowing me to attend this event.)
