pretty sure that this model at tanya taylor was feeling all of my feelings.

oh damn, oh damn, oh damn — tanya taylor’s fall 2013 presentation (everything about it, really) was so good. it was rockabilly fashion at its best from the bouffant-ish hair to the smudgy graphic eye and relaxed rocker chicness of the clothes. before working backstage at taylor’s show last season, i hadn’t known much about the designer, but i am now making it my civic duty to know everything. a few interesting facts:
give peace a chance.
working at nars has allowed me the opportunity to form relationships with many of our artists and uzo has become one of my favorites; she creates gorgeous looks (both editorial and runway), is super funny, and does her thing exclusively in 5-inch heels. admirable. i love watching her in her element — it isn’t creepy, i swear.

most of my time spent at the tanya taylor presentation was backstage watching uzo do her thing (a fresh-faced beauty look inspired by natalie wood, minus her signature cat-eye; basically, a 60s girl on vacation in barbados), but i was able to scurry downstairs once all of the models were gussied up to see the final product.
in seasons past, i’ve declared my love for watching the entire process unfold, from backstage beauty to hair to the last phase of dressing the models, and this time was no different. the neutral nars look complemented taylor’s bright blocks of color.
