farpitzs means "all dressed up" in yiddish.
though, as fashionista wrote, the marni for h&m collection (which lands in stores on march 8th) “hasn’t reached the same level it did for versace for h&m,” i am excited to see it in-person…so long as that doesn’t mean i have to sign up for a wristband and wait in line for four hours to go into the store for 30 minutes and choose only two pieces. this month’s vogue russia revealed a bit more of the line to whet your appetite.
please, i dare you to watch this video and tell me you’re not excited to see how the marni for h&m collab turns out. i used to get excited for diffusion lines, but quickly turned bored after seeing the poor quality and high prices. this one, though, has me looking forward to march when the line hits 260 h&m stores (and, by then, online).
the marni fall 2011 collection made me sad. sad that i couldn’t nuzzle up next to all those lush, paneled fur coats and layers of buttery leather.
marni pulled out the stops in the pattern department — geometric shapes and an interesting twist on plaid; colors ranged from a coral to emerald to cobalt. but overall, the shapes were a bit bland (shapeless dresses as far as the eye could see). “i want to go back to the start, with simplicity and discipline,” explained designer consuelo castiglioni.
