if you’ve turned on your computer lately, you probably know that gap is killin’ it more than usual. no? it’s been off? sara zucker to the rescue! anyway, the retailer has needed some help these past few years after the debacle that was patrick robinson (sorry, bro), but it seems to be getting back on its feet thanks to a new creative director, rebekka bay, and this sexy-as-hell fall 2013 collection.
see the select looks above, carefully chosen due to my own selfishness? they are all a part of gap’s upcoming spring collection. right? you were surprised, too. leaning a bit toward a madewell aesthetic, i would be thrilled to plaster small stars all over my thighs, so you can bet that i’ll scoop up those skimmers in the bottom lefthand corner.

would you believe that it is not a dress? in fact, on a recent trip to the gap, i was feeling sassy and combined a waffle tee and knit skirt to create the illusion you see/saw above. (tuck the shirt in for a similarly sleek, one-piece look.)
i am not ready for spring—not even close. winter has barely poked its stiff, chilly finger in my face, but all of the spring 2013 lookbooks are revealing collections that have me writing a wishlist of the pieces i’m gonna need. since most of my wardrobe is made up of things from the gap, obviously i eagerly awaited a peek at the upcoming line. here it is! keep your eyes open for these looks to arrive in stores in the coming months.
what to expect? a splash of prep, a dash of bohemian, and a heavy sprinkle of comfort.
well, i mean, not literally. i just want to bring to your attention that the gap is holding its friends & family sale, which takes a hefty 30% off your total purchase with the promo code “GAPFRIENDS” until monday, november 12. this does include sale items. if i was good at math i would tally the discounts up for you, but i’m not. there are some items to pay attention to as i am an obsessive gap shopper and swear by the following:
happy shopping and many apologies for any impact this may have on your life savings.
(disclosure: i’m biased, i love the gap, so this post will be tainted by my love.)
as soon as i got a whiff that this partnership was happening, i couldn’t wait to learn more and share it with you. remember when rumors began to spread about advertising on nyc metrocards? at first, it sounded—i’ll admit—ridiculous. this morning, an image was revealed of a metrocard takeover by the gap. at first glance, it looks like the collaboration solely benefits the retailer by having all eyes on it multiple times each day, swiping its brand through turnstiles around the city, but look a little harder; each card has a coupon for 20% off any gap store between now and november 18. boom. you sold me.
yesterday, i bought this cape (30% off!). no other cape compares to this cape.
i’ve made the decision to lay low this month in an attempt to relax and find a new apartment, so i was unable to attend gap’s fall 2012 launch party last night. in lieu of that, i have broken down the lookbook to highlight some of my favorite pieces from the collection:
gap, is that you?! my, how you’ve changed. you’re almost like the grown-up sister i already have but a little more rugged. cleaner. even—dare i say it—crisp. (i know, i’m shocked, too.) anyway, behold the store’s holiday 2012 lookbook. a+ work.
