after an unfortunate reschedule due to the arrival of hurricane sandy, lucky shops finally arrived! i was honored and flattered and baffled to be invited by lucky to attend the vip night dressed solely in sponsored garb. (because, like, how often does that happen? i was like “heellllllllll yes.”) if you aren’t familiar with lucky shops, it’s when a few dozen brands are curated by the magazine and host booths in a big open space, offering marked-down goods to bargain-hungry shoppers for three days. it’s going down tonight and tomorrow. last night was a more private affair hosted by jennifer hudson. i was tempted to sing a little ditty called “and i am telling you,” but held it back. also in attendance were some fabulously dressed internet friends including rachel and sara (both seen above looking headless and amazing), hitha, eileen, jonell, and rachel.
i cannot thank foley + corinna, ettika, sole society, happy socks, and chloe + isabel enough for stepping in to make sure that i didn’t attend the event naked. and did you forget? you all picked my outfit! details to come.
note: yes, that is *the* anna corinna in the last picture. i love her.
last night, i had the pleasure of attending an intimate holiday dinner at jadis with fellow bloggers and the design duo dana foley and anna corinna of—yup, you guessed it—foley + corinna. the dinner wasn’t about new product or what’s coming up for their brand; rather, it was an opportunity to simply get to know them, which was a unique and fresh take on the typical fashion gathering. thus, this was certainly one of my favorite events in a long time simply because it allowed me to spend time with girls that i genuinely enjoy being around, drank dranks, and meet two extremely talented designers whose work i’ve admired for years. don’t even tell me you wouldn’t be psyched to eat with the creators of the ‘mid city tote’—it was like meeting picasso, you guys.
note: almost everyone in the pic above is on their phone. hilarious.
i’m sure you’ve been waiting all day to see the foley + corinna fall 2012 collection in its entirety. like, what else do you have to do? work? what’s that? anyway, i’ll let the images above speak for themselves because the line is just that good. please make note of the classic shapes, wearability, and obvious vintage inspiration. there should be no doubt as to why f + c has become a cult brand with bags coveted the world over.
(i am definitely going to need a moment with that chocolate brown croc tote.)
