way back when [during fashion week], i stopped by the wolverine boutique in soho to celebrate the reveal of samantha pleet's spring collection and her collaboration with the heritage footwear brand. with the cold starting to rear its frigid head, some of the boots shown then are super relevant now — the sandals, however, can be saved.
say whaaattttt?! have you seenchanelspring 2014? we need to talk about this because it is ‘modern day university student’ at its richest — literally, this shit is expensive (i don’t even want to know how much this stuff costs). there were backpacks and portfolio cases and outfit upon outfit perfect for a girl on the go who owns her own island. also, the eye makeup blew my mind; like, my brain is melting out of my ears right now; i would’ve been totally fine if the entire show consisted of just the models’ eyes floating down the runway.
basically, dana lorenz is cooler than most of the designers that showed at new york fashion week this season for one simple reason: she got on the tech bandwagon. not only was this her first runway show ever, the fallon designer debuted a spring accessories collection featuring an array of products created to perfectly complement the new samsung “smartwatch,” galaxy note 3, and more. #geekchic
revealing spring collections in the fall isn’t all bad. the way i see it, the clothes shown should simply serve to inspire you when you finally schedule that vacation you’ve been waiting for for eight months. no? just me? oh. anyway, lyn devon's line-up makes me want to change my trip from philadelphia to bermuda just because obviously.
if you thought peplum was suddenly going back in its hole for the next few seasons, think again; and though i haven’t been a huge fan of the trend and don’t feel that it is always a flattering one, i have a mind to try recreating many of araks' spring looks.
i have a feeling that recreating any of the looks from karen walker's spring 2014 runway show will not be curve-flattering, but there are some sacrifices that must be made for the sake of fashion. all of these clothes need to get in my closet, stat.
