since i have no qualms about being inspired by other bloggers, geri’s post compelled me to research as much as i could about designer heidi merrick because how could i not after seeing this fall collection? here is what i learned:
occasionally, a lookbook drops into my lap screaming so loudly of *sara zucker* that i can barely stand it and madewell fall 2013 is one prime example. it was so hard to choose just nine images from the overall stylings, but those shown exhibit exactly what i am talking about and readers that are also irl friends can attest to this.
vans has revealed its fall 2013 collection, one that is bursting with funky patterns (jewels, tiger fur — even the universe!). what is most note-worthy about this line-up is that the skate brand has extended its footwear repertoire to include wedge sneakers, a trend made mass by the likes of isabel marant, ash, and nike.
shoes range in price from $45 to $75 and should start arriving in-store soon.
plomo’s fall 2013 lookbook recently fell into my possession and though i was previously unfamiliar with the brand, these cute shoes will make sure i never forget about it again. conceived by two friends, galia and keltse were able to turn their love of shoes into a reality revealing their first collection in 2010.
want a pair of plomo for yourself? the brand is currently holding a sale on bonfaire.
and just as the temperatures are starting to rise, i’m revealing the liebeskind autumn/winter 2013 collection. seems weird, doesn’t it? nevermind all that — these bags are the bomb, especially the ones at the bottom working their rugged-yet-modern magic. there are lit’rally so many styles to choose from in this line-up, a girl of any personal style aesthetic is sure to find something she likes.

yesterday morning, i arrived to aamanns-copenhagen (the restaurant’s first location in the states!) bright and early to experience a bit of denmark — skagen hosted an intimate preview for its upcoming collections. i’ve been familiar with the heritage brand for years as a go-to for watches and was pleasantly surprised to find an extensive line of styles as well as a burgeoning jewelry collection, the latter of which is in its second season. everything was slim, light, and classic in shape — all of which create a wearable product for both men and women. best of all? the affordability factor.
disclosure: i was graciously gifted with a skagen watch at the close of this event
i feel like taking this moment to highlight katherine kwei and the gorgeous designs she created for fall 2013. i feel pretentious writing this, but it has truly been such a pleasure watching her develop over the years that we’ve been acquainted.

i recently had the opportunity to preview the upcoming collections of treesje and joelle hawkens by treesje, the former brand’s less pricey (but equally as awesome) line. the shapes were a modern mix of textures and colors with leather nearly as soft as lukewarm butter, which i swear is a compliment. expect to see them in stores soon.
oh my goodness, what is all of this gloriousness? prior to stumbling upon love, zooey’s fall 2013 lookbook, i was unaware that such an amazing label existed, so full of texture and moodiness while still retaining a glamorous spirit. i think i need alla dat.
jason wu’s little sister brand miss wu has revealed its fall 2013 lookbook, which is adorable in an audrey hepburn kind of way. it’s like that really cool girl who wears fake glasses and argyle and you’re like “she is literally the only person who looks good in argyle. how does she do it? and also, her glasses are fake and i still take her seriously.” also, it is friday midst the longest week ever and i’m phoning it in right now.
