and just as the temperatures are starting to rise, i’m revealing the liebeskind autumn/winter 2013 collection. seems weird, doesn’t it? nevermind all that — these bags are the bomb, especially the ones at the bottom working their rugged-yet-modern magic. there are lit’rally so many styles to choose from in this line-up, a girl of any personal style aesthetic is sure to find something she likes.

yesterday morning, i arrived to aamanns-copenhagen (the restaurant’s first location in the states!) bright and early to experience a bit of denmark — skagen hosted an intimate preview for its upcoming collections. i’ve been familiar with the heritage brand for years as a go-to for watches and was pleasantly surprised to find an extensive line of styles as well as a burgeoning jewelry collection, the latter of which is in its second season. everything was slim, light, and classic in shape — all of which create a wearable product for both men and women. best of all? the affordability factor.
disclosure: i was graciously gifted with a skagen watch at the close of this event
i feel like taking this moment to highlight katherine kwei and the gorgeous designs she created for fall 2013. i feel pretentious writing this, but it has truly been such a pleasure watching her develop over the years that we’ve been acquainted.

i recently had the opportunity to preview the upcoming collections of treesje and joelle hawkens by treesje, the former brand’s less pricey (but equally as awesome) line. the shapes were a modern mix of textures and colors with leather nearly as soft as lukewarm butter, which i swear is a compliment. expect to see them in stores soon.
oh my goodness, what is all of this gloriousness? prior to stumbling upon love, zooey’s fall 2013 lookbook, i was unaware that such an amazing label existed, so full of texture and moodiness while still retaining a glamorous spirit. i think i need alla dat.
jason wu’s little sister brand miss wu has revealed its fall 2013 lookbook, which is adorable in an audrey hepburn kind of way. it’s like that really cool girl who wears fake glasses and argyle and you’re like “she is literally the only person who looks good in argyle. how does she do it? and also, her glasses are fake and i still take her seriously.” also, it is friday midst the longest week ever and i’m phoning it in right now.
if you’ve turned on your computer lately, you probably know that gap is killin’ it more than usual. no? it’s been off? sara zucker to the rescue! anyway, the retailer has needed some help these past few years after the debacle that was patrick robinson (sorry, bro), but it seems to be getting back on its feet thanks to a new creative director, rebekka bay, and this sexy-as-hell fall 2013 collection.

i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again: french connection has got it goin’ on right now. further proof was shown in a recent visit to the retailer’s showroom, which had the fall collection on display. the clothes speak for themselves, but what i will continue is that you can expect a ton of texture and an array of of-the-moment trends in-store beginning in august. this includes bomber jackets, brocade, burnt orange, and animal print.
know what’s cool? learning shit. in an effort to stay up-to-date on the digital industry, my rss reader is crammed full of sites like psfk; thanks to said site, i learned that topshop unique featured prints in its fall 2013 line that would be more at home in an english pub than on a runway. overall, the brand took inspiration from the brit pop era of the 90s (aka “british grunge”) and photos of football managers in their signature sheepskin jackets, seen most clearly in the collection’s over-sized outerwear.
the more you know.
after attending the launch of kate spade saturday a mere month ago, i’ve been waiting with bated breath for more from the line to be revealed and now i can officially provide just that to you, my dear readers. the fall 2013 collection is a colorful mix of prints with what fashionista says is “just a hint of 70s ski bunny.” what i love most about this sister brand is that it lacks the overly feminine kitsch of kate spade’s usual wares and injects more of a comfortable tomboyish feel — definitely more my speed.
