fifi lapin is channeling a pilgrim in cold weather — also known as marc jacobs fall 2012 — which is fitting since i’m told it’s 30° today. not positive, though. i’m still in bed.
real talk: why are lauren moffatt’s clothes so adorable? refinery29 compiled some of fall 2012 wares and i can’t help wishing money grew on trees because that would ensure my wardrobe’s poppin’ (there are lots of trees in queens). gimme those coats!
what makes a holiday party special? it isn’t the eggnog or trimming the tree (in my case, the menorah)—no, it’s all about having an excuse to dress up and put on something sparkly. thus, the jennifer behr fall/winter 2012 collection has the perfect topper for any look. sure, they’re pricy pieces, but heart-stoppingly beautiful.
if you’re a fan of wrapping up in the classics, you should know about etre. the brand’s autumn/winter 2012 collection was specifically inspired by “the understated but characterful traditions of british workwear,” which makes sense since all pieces (including the leather gloves and satchels) were hand-crafted in the british isles with local materials. want some specifics? workwear jackets are manufactured by a 150-year-old family business in west yorkshire. gansey sweaters are knitted, spun and dyed in yorkshire mills that have turned out the same material for generations. leather gloves are made by a family business established in 1944, one of the last surviving british glove manufacturers. bags are fabricated by a small cornish leatherwork company. kinda makes you want to experience the product in-person.

gimme alla that good stuff from patrick ervell fall 2012, particularly the full skirt.

after revealing them just last week, i had the opportunity to check out the upcoming fall and holiday collections from manhattan-based boutique otte yesterday.
first, it was so lovely to meet lauren from the pr team in person. she is a peach. second, it is always a pleasure to see/feel/try on clothes that look great in photos—you never know how they’ll look/feel/wear on the body. what is particularly interesting about otte is that it has begun to slowly expand its in-house line of separates; while the store does carry some luxe brands like loeffler randall and 3.1 phillip lim, the goal of otte’s is to “fill a void” missing in retail. think: boxy sweaters with slim sleeves and buttery cashmere sweaters with a longer torso. looking at much of the new stock on hangers, it looked almost exactly like the contents of a woman’s closet—it was clear that all pieces could be easily mixed and matched. stop into any of the 4 otte stores to see what i mean.
dang, keds, this whole brand extension into womenswear thing is totally cool with me if you continue releasing clothes like these. for the most part, while i can see some chick pairing plimsolls with the dresses, the looks styled in your fall 2012 lookbook are far chicer than what people are used to. keep it up, por favor.
sometimes i need to take a break from being all about me, you know? in doing so, i’d like to dedicate this post to erin and congratulate her for basically being “the face” of swedish hasbeens, at least in the footwear brand’s fall 2012 campaign. get it, girl!
aside from knowing how lovely erin is, the collaboration between her (as a personality and a blog) and swedish hasbeens makes total sense as their aesthetics align perfectly. additionally, the clogs are now introduced to a new, younger audience.
so, hey, these looks are part of the opening ceremony women’s fall/winter 2012 collection and i’m feeling really strongly about them. as in, if they suddenly appeared in my closet, i wouldn’t be mad. chanukah is coming up fast, by the way.

carlo pazolini may be less than thirty years old (founded in 1990), but you’d never know it looking at the shoes above. look at those puppies. i stopped in the brand’s soho store and tried on a few pairs, so i can also attest to the buttery softness of the leather. and? almost everything you see is priced below $400. if you live near any of the carlo pazolini stores around the globe, i implore you to stop in, especially if you’re looking for some quality footwear. see? you learn something new every day when you read this blog.
