many apologies for my crappy iphone pic, but i hope you can get the gist of how awesome the beaded collar is on this wood wood shirt; after stopping by its booth at (capsule) women’s, my obsession the danish brand has been solidified, though i’m pretty sure i can diy it myself. a bag of beads + a few hours = one envy-inducing¬†collar.

the very first keds’ apparel collection

on monday morning, i scurried over to the west side to visit (capsule) women’s. admittedly, trade shows are super awkward for bloggers because traditional public relations and sales folks just don’t know what to do with us. thus, there was a lot of “oh, well, um…”s and “we would appreciate you not taking any photos…” nevertheless, there was one booth i was really looking forward to checking out and had full permission to use my camera: keds. did you know that keds created a mini collection of clothing for opening ceremony? the experiment has expanded into an extensive line of dresses, separates, light outerwear, and knitwear. the quirky clock and chair prints were particularly memorable. though the brand doesn’t have locations locked down yet for where they will stock, prices will be in the $200-400 range.

this is what mark mcnairy's very first womenswear collection ever looks like. basically, greatness. i love its easy mix of feminine and masculine, retro and modern, understated yet full of personality. also? look at all that texture. yum.

side note: this line was inspired by mcnairy’s teenage daughter, daisy.

(capsule) women’s begins today and goes until wednesday and in addition to playing host to over 200 awesome womenswear brands, there is something else: oasis. basically, it’s a pop-up artisanal market and is open to the public, so you should stop by if you happen to be in the area. i know i will. see below for more details.
