“lunch break”? what “lunch break”? i tend to take that afternoon hour and dedicate it to scurrying to a designated location in the city for collection previews, especially now when some brands are taking advantage of the fashion week mindset — you know, before things get too hairy. yesterday, i used the hour to see ann taylor’s summer 2013 line-up, a compilation of bright colors and popular patterns. my mind wasn’t blown by anything i saw, though i did love the floral peplum look and stripes/spots combo.
after much dragging out on my part simply because i’m busy with life, here is the rest of the ann taylor holiday 2012 collection in all of its shimmery, glittery, art deco-inspired glory. there were definitely some stand-outs that i can’t wait to try one in-store once they arrive; particularly, the button-down with a jewel-embellished collar and that speckled gray coat. watch out, local ann taylor location (times square)! sara’s a comin’!
obviously, ann taylor has consistently churned out extensive collection for the past few seasons that i’ve been attending its previews. the holiday 2012 collection is no different and while it was really weird for me to look at a classic winter wonderland setting of christmas trees and holiday gifts while i was sweating in 90+ degree heat, the palette of black, red, and blue really had me psyched for chillier weather. the retailer has really thrown out great accessories and the chunky, art deco-like jewelry was particularly note-worthy. also, can i get a moment with that red petal blouse? i mean.
as promised, here is a preview of what you should expect to see arriving in ann taylor stores from july to october. the fall 2012 collection was inspired by a parisian girl in the 60s, prancing around town looking all classy and shit. going with the theme, all attendees were gifted with a small box of macarons [and a bracelet from the line, which i am obligated to disclose]. i am particularly partial to the blue and camel looks toward the bottom of this post, but you should note the level of amazing that is ann’s footwear for this season (read: dalmation print, horsehair, patent, and bows galore).
