on thrift shopping

sbz:

within the past two years, i like to think that i have become a pretty good thrift shopper. it is, admittedly, extremely difficult not to become overwhelmed by racks and racks of ridiculously low-priced clothing in a variety of quality levels. you can easily lose focus and go hog wild with men’s plaid button-downs and shoulder-padded blazers. it takes a lot of patience, a keen eye, and some semblance of standards. stay focused; go with a goal in mind and you are sure to find something remotely similar to your vision. some people are majorly creeped out by pre-used clothes, but haven’t you even purchased a pre-used apartment? what about a car? toothbrush? no? regardless, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a hand-me-down every once in a while, especially in today’s trying times.

today, i bought a knit scarf for less than a dollar…it has a mysterious brown stain (blood?) and wearing it now, i’ve started to itch. i would definitely say to immediately wash your purchases. i hope i didn’t just catch syphillis.
