in honor of vogue russia’s 10th anniversary, some of fashion’s elite have gathered to design traditional russian matroishka dolls to be auctioned off for charity on november 20th. participants include yves saint laurent, prada, versace, ralph lauren, dolce and gabbana, and martin margiela.

“The designers sketches were realized by Russian craftsmen, who hand-painted the 50 centimeter dolls. “Every Matrioshka is unique and a piece of art in itself,” said Aliona Doletskaya, Russian Vogue’s editor-in-chief. “Installation, sculpture, objet d’art - you can call it however you wish.”
