i recently came upon a tumblr who really exemplified what an online journal should be; pastnotes. these are the published thoughts of a girl looking back on her teenage experiences in an effort to self-analyze where she has gone in the past and who she will become in the future. all posts are compiled as reflections on found photos, poems, quotes, and even songs of inspiration. in a way, her writings are an attempt to right her wrongs.

basically, this blog has served as her silent online therapist. isn’t that what a journal, online or not, has the ability to do? can’t it serve as a place for your innermost thoughts and feelings, in order to grow as a person? in any case, this tumblr is definitely one to see and ponder.

side note: obviously, it is all a matter of choice; a choice that i myself do not follow.
