thank you (and others who sent well wishes) so much. i am extremely relieved to say that my neighborhood was relatively unscathed and had power throughout the storm, but many others did not and my heart goes out to them. in the new york city region, it’s easy to think that sandy is over and gone, but it is not and the storm is still on land affecting parts of the east coast. if you are looking to help as i am, text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation to the red cross or seek out shelters in ravaged areas—they need food,  clothing, and other amenities for those seeking refuge.
