farpitzs means "all dressed up" in yiddish.
at times, i wonder what exactly makes something a trend.
take the gladiator sandal, a shoe that has seemingly burst on the scene, despite its’ creation in ancient times. did it suddenly become a popular piece after being seen on countless celebrities? it is considered a lustworthy item only after months of buzzing before it became available on the market? it is considered a trend when it can be found in store, after store, after store, after store?
for a product like the fanny pack, once a beloved handbag, it has now become a loathed accessory. despite this, it is still being produced even by high-end brands. this causes me to wonder, when does a trend officially fade? with bellbottoms, high-waisted pants, corsets, and peasant skirts reproduced to fit a modern era, do they ever really go away?
