the katherine kwei s/s 2011 collection preview

let me preface this by saying that disposable cameras blow. okay, now, to the point: last night, with many thanks to bianca and mallory of small girls pr, i attended a preview of katherine kwei’s spring/summer 2011 collection.

 

can we take a moment to be completely inappropriate and praise the animals on this earth for allowing designers to create such beautiful handbags? (many apologies to the vegans reading this post.) breathe in and out with me.

prices for the bags range from $50 for a keychain to $2,000 for a large hobo. all featured the most buttery leather, but the standout style was definitely the “switch,” a hobo that has a reversible, removable knotted overlay.

the bloggers in attendance were invited to help themselves to a yummy chinese buffet and create keychains featuring kwei’s signature eternity knots. there was also a live-blogging station complete with ipads to document the night!

 

i was excited to spend time some of my favorite ladies in the blogosphere (including carlye, mariel, lindsay, stephanie, erica, claire, jessica and lani.)

 

but most importantly, i had the opportunity to meet the designer herself, miss katherine kwei, who was just as beautiful and charming as her handbags. i had an amazing time and as a ‘thank you’ for coming, i received a “donna” sling bag. for all you tumblrs out there, be sure to follow katherine’s blog!
