thank you so much for your kind words! i hate to disappoint you and the others who have similar questions, but i do not work in the fashion industry, though i do research and write about it on a daily basis.
regardless, you are on the right track in recognizing the importance of an internship. while in college, i completed over six internships in a variety of different fields (public relations, archival studies, records management, entertainment, advertising sales, etc.) and i cannot stress enough how mandatory it is to get your feet wet in “the business,” whatever that “business” might be. reach out to the people you admire, ask for advice and how they got to their position — i am sure that most will tell you to work hard, work late, and never complain. be patient: your dedication and enthusiasm will pay off.
