Hey Sara! Quick question: I've heard most starter positions in the fashion industry are maybe 20k a year. How does one survive in New York with such low pay? I want to move sometime after college, but I can't imagine how I'll be able to live there, especially while trying to pay off student loans. Thanks!

you’re right in that the salary for entry level fashion positions are low. brands like to think of it as a trade-off for the perks you receive once you get in the industry; personally, i got bills to pay, so homie don’t play that, but there are others willing to take what they are offered. my advice is to find a part-time job for nights and weekends to act as a supplement. if you leave near the city, commute and save like i did. otherwise? to be blunt? you may want to look for a different career.
