Next to my oh-so sunny dispositon I’m loathe to admit that my hair, this thicket mound, is more or less my calling card. It has been meme-orialized in enough embarrassing Tumblr posts and it’s time for it to give back.

So it goes like this. I will shave my head for ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS to be donated to the Aids Project Los Angeles.

Cathy Orell volunteered with the APLA for seven years in their Buddy Program assisting in their home one individual who was living with AIDS right until their unfortunate passing. Eventually, seeing too many friends die was too much to bear, but the charity itself and what it means to her remain a large part of who she is, what she does and, by turn, who I am.

Once the thousand dollar threshold has been met I will shave my head and document it for all to see. If that amount is NOT reached within two weeks of this posting whatever donations are accrued will simply be donated outright to APLA.

• For a $50 donation you will receive a personalized one-off letter from Cathy Orell featuring an embarassing childhood story about her son. (Seriously)
