how to look flattering in photos -
keep this short checklist in mind when attending an event with many a party photographer. i suggest putting it on a post-it before the next obliterati.
while fashion-minded females everywhere have been going crazy about the recent availability of the dolce vita for target collection, you should know that the footwear brand has another diffusion line currently for sale — at urban outfitters, called “dolcetta.” the quality of these shoes looks a whole lot better than those at target and almost all of the styles are currently on sale. get on that asap!
i can’t quite make a decision, but, how do you feel about letterman jackets?

this weekend wasn’t nearly as productive as those in weekends past, but i wouldn’t have wanted to do anything else. it began on friday night with the cure thrift shop 2nd birthday party. so many lovely people (including, but not limited to: bianca, kristen, sarah, stephanie, eric, ronen, lee and bez) showed up and i tried my hardest to scurry around and socialize with everyone.
here i am with vogue nippon’s jacob and, yes, i am wearing a crop top and, yes, you are jealous. i was surprised to find that my micro machines necklace was a huge hit! i look forward to finding out who won it. amy and jeremy hosted me for the evening and after a polish (well, for some — i ordered a bison burger) meal to escape the sudden torrential downpour, we ventured out to park slope.
the neighborhood is so beautiful! sometimes, it’s nice to just stop and admire the world around you, don’t you agree? i met becca for a brooklyn flea trip, but i wasn’t prepared for saturday’s mind-numbing, body-paralyzing heat.
after eating a tasty grilled cheese (who orders grilled cheese in 100° weather? this girl.) from the milk truck, i picked up a fabulous pair of suede boots from mattie & blanche and two pairs of earrings by species by the thousands. after rallying for a few hours, we had to call it a day and took a subway over to the ace hotel to cool off, unwind and spend some $$ at opening ceremony.
today, i took a trip to the store to buy myself some flowers and reminisce about when i lived in florence and barilla pasta was only 55¢ a box. sigh.
sanrio has collaborated with dr. martens on a limited edition collection in honor of the footwear brand’s 50th anniversary. it features three styles of 1460 8-eye boots ($134.95 and $164.95) and two styles of mary janes ($119.95).
the line is expected to arrive on august 28th on nordstrom.com.
