i like to do everything myself. i know pretty well about dressmaking — a technique that is difficult to get, as you know. my eyes are open, but they are not limited to a screen. for me, the world is a huge screen. that’s how i see it. — karl lagerfeld on why he doesn’t use computers
since i’ve been given permission from the editor-in-chief herself, i can announce that i have joined the styleite team. let me break it down: the new site, which launches on monday, is a fashion-minded off-chute of the infamous mediaite and will feature weekly columns by some of the biggest in the biz. this blog has made me into a member of the biz, and thus, i have been invited to participate.
if you haven’t already joined, you should. there will be thinky pieces, snarky pieces, fun pieces, sexy pieces and pictures of people wearing clothing.
expect a diy project from me every thursday. how about them apples?
spring forward with 100 top picks from retailers -
i love reading seasonal recommendations direct from the manufacturer. i realize that they’re just trying to peddle their wares, but it takes effort to choose just one piece out of the many. (and fine, i’ll admit it, i’m ready for spring.)
i just want to make one thing clear: this is not a footwear blog. i know, you’re confused, i post a lot of shoes, but that is just a coincidence. now that i’ve clarified things, you should know that gap’s latest collaboration with keds is boring. really boring. as in, i was shocked at how boring it is. so far, it’s a patterned lace-up with prices in an affordable range of $40-50, but i see nothing unique or ground-breaking about this collection. they’ll arrive in stores in july.
no biggie, just plotting the specifics of my next haircut. (via jak&jil)
did you forget that i am lending my skillz to cure’s upcoming spring event?
expect three of my favorite things: booze, [swag] bags and beautiful pieces of vintage. e-mail bianca (bianca@curethriftshop.com) to rsvp and/or schedule some 1-on-1 time with me. what are you waiting for? spaces are limited!
these jil sander laser-cut wood and calfskin wedges have a mind-blowing $1,240 price-tag, but, you know what? i don’t even care. get in my closet.

What do you think of that? If you're familiar with the collections of Marni.

forever21 did another face-palm with this blatant act of fashion plagiarism, but i can’t say that i’m shocked…or that i wouldn’t buy the cheaper version if they came in a size 5. reminder: jelly sandals make your feet all sorts of gross.
